She is passionate about reducing long-term effects of traumatic experiences and toxic stress and practices EMDR, TF-CBT, and Person-Centered Therapy with her clients.

Trauma Therapy Through EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR, is a form of psychotherapy that enables people to heal from physical symptoms and emotional distress resulting from both acute and complex trauma. EMDR therapy allows the mind to heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma but at a faster rate than traditional psychotherapy. Jennifer uses EMDR to help clients determine how past events impact current functioning and to create a treatment plan uniquely tailored to their needs and goals for healing.

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or TF-CBT, is a specialized psychotherapy for children and adolescents experiencing stress after exposure to a traumatic event. TF-CBT helps clients and caregivers develop understanding of mental and physical changes resulting from trauma and helps the client process and replace harmful beliefs about what happened to them and why. It teaches strategies for reducing symptoms and enhancing a child’s ability to cope with current and future stressors.

Relationship Healing

Relationship counseling is not just for couples with extreme problems, conflicts, or issues. There are times when even the healthiest and happiest of us need a little assistance to navigate life. Couples counseling is a form of psychotherapy or counseling designed to help partners recognize and resolve various forms of conflict or challenges that negatively impact their relationship. It has the capacity to resolve new conflicts, as well as deep-rooted, long-standing ones.
