Sara Chastain

Licensed Certified Social Worker

Compassion. Structure. Understanding.

Sara is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over six years of experience supporting children and adolescents through emotional and behavioral challenges. She specializes in working with school-aged children navigating ADHD, DMDD, ODD, depression, anxiety, trauma, and related behavioral concerns. Her work is grounded in the belief that every child has the capacity to grow and heal when given the right support, tools, and understanding.

Sara has been providing behavioral support to children with trauma and complex behavioral needs in both clinical and school-based settings. She collaborates closely with children and their families to enhance behavioral outcomes, promote emotional wellness, and help children reconnect with a strong sense of self. She recognizes and values the unique differences of each child, and tailors her approach to meet their individual needs.

Fostering Emotional Intelligence

Sara’s therapeutic work integrates play therapy, Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), Conscious Discipline, emotional regulation techniques, and behavioral interventions. This developmentally informed and evidence-based approach helps foster self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and prosocial behavior, while addressing the underlying emotional needs driving behavior.

In addition to her work with children, she also supports young adults navigating the complexities of emotional regulation, identity development, trauma recovery, and life transitions. Drawing from her background in behavioral support and trauma-informed care, she helps young adults gain insight, build resilience, and develop practical strategies to move toward stability and self-empowerment.

The sessions will allow space for families and individuals to share their goals, concerns, and hopes for treatment. Together, we develop a clear and personalized plan to support the child’s progress moving forward.

Sara’s mission is to create a compassionate and collaborative space where children feel safe, seen, and supported—empowering them and their families to work toward lasting positive change.
